Eastern Ontario Trillium Zone: News 2009
table border

Another year and more rules to follow.  Equine Canada has sent out notification that anyone showing on the ‘Silver’ (Trillium) Circuit in 2011 will not be able to purchase their Equine Canada membership at the horse show.  If you show up without your ‘Silver’ licence you will have to purchase a Temporary Sport Licence, the fee is $30, and if you don’t have a passport you will have to purchase a Temporary Horse Registration.  And if you do not have either the EC Sport Licence or Passport you will not collect any points.

We encourage you to go on line and purchase your Sport Licence and if you need a Passport please get it done. Equine Canada has also published a “Members Not In Good Standing of Equine Canada (A805)” list which is maintained on the Equine Canada website.  If you are on this list your entries will not be accepted.  Show Secretaries have access to this list and EC is keeping it up to date.

Your Trillium Hunter/Jumper Association is now Incorporated and has a set of By-Laws which govern the Association.  The THJA Policies have been updated and will be sent out in early April to all THJA members.  The new Interim President of the THJA is Paul Morgan, with Jeanne Mervyn (Georgian Bay) as Vice-President.

Good luck at the 2011 Competitions!

  • In Equitation, you must wear conservative-coloured protective headgear with no additional adornments.
  • On the EC website there is a schedule of Drugs that elicit a positive response.  All coaches should know these rules – see Glossary EC 2008.
  • No Canadian exhibitor may enter a horse or pony without a valid EC or FEI Passport.  If you do not have a Passport or forget your Passport at home you must fill out a Temporary Horse Registration Form and pay the fee.  Without a Passport you will not receive points.  Passports are required for a competitor to compete in Equitation classes.
